Detailed Information

Hi, I am Dr Terry McIvor (Synaptic Trainer), and I want to share a personal story about my battle with chronic mind-body pain and how I overcame it using techniques inspired by Dr. John Sarno, the pioneer of mind-body pain relief.

A few years ago, I began experiencing debilitating migraines and persistent body pains. The pain was relentless and started to interfere with every aspect of my life. Despite numerous consultations with various healthcare professionals and trying countless treatments, I found little to no relief. The lack of a clear structural cause for my pain only added to my frustration and sense of hopelessness. As a Mental Health Coach, helping entrepreneurs and business executives with anxiety, depression and business strategy. I noticed that when I helped them in this area, their pain lessened, too. I was fascinated by this, which is another reason I became a Freedom from Pain Practitioner.

I hold an M.Sc. in Psychology with Neuroscience and Psychiatric Applications from Manipur International University, where I now serve as the Chair of Psychology and Neuroscience Therapy. I also lead the program in personalised mental health therapies at the same institution and am a fellow in the field.

With my expertise in science and psychology, I am a Psychologist, Coaching Fellow, Certified Pain Reprocessing Therapy Coach, and a Freedom From Pain Practitioner. My system integrates advanced techniques such as Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), and Internal Family Systems to retrain the brain’s response to pain.

In my clinical practice, I focus on non-structural causes of chronic pain, utilising a holistic approach. I believe in the brain’s power to influence pain perception. I am committed to helping clients unlock their potential for a pain-free life through personalised coaching and advanced therapeutic techniques.

I founded the International Guild of Hypnotherapy, NLP, and 3 Principles Practitioners and Trainers (IGH3P®), setting high standards in therapeutic practices and supporting the professional development of practitioners worldwide. My work has received international recognition, earning multiple awards for excellence in therapeutic practices and innovation in pain management.

Beyond my clinical work, I research, contribute to academic journals, and share my knowledge at conferences and workshops. My mission is to continue exploring the depths of mind-body connections and provide effective, compassionate care to chronic pain patients.

I invite those struggling with chronic pain who have found little relief through traditional methods to explore innovative mind-body strategies with me.
